Peak Energy Events are times when we make your thermostat schedule a bit more flexible, slightly shifting when your AC or heat pump runs. We do this on occasional extreme-weather days, when demand for energy spikes because lots of people are using energy at once.
During Peak Energy Events, we may heat or cool your home before energy demand spikes, then run your A/C or heat pump a little less in the hours when demand is highest. We always make sure your home stays within a few degrees of your regularly programmed temperatures, so you should stay comfortable before, during, and after Peak Energy Events.
Peak Energy Events only happen on occasional extremely hot or cold days, and only up to 15 times per season. We always notify you when they’re coming up, and we never adjust your thermostat on days without Peak Energy Events.
